Review the NHS111/Ambulance Service and ensure adequate governance/safeguarding.
In February 2015 our son, Harry Williams, died from Meningitis. A catalogue of errors associated with the NHS 111 service including poor training and deliberate delays to ambulance response times, in order to achieve targets, caused significant distress and delayed treatment when he fell ill.
The Daily Telegraph revealed the findings of a draft “forensic review” of the matter, which said Mr Sutton pushed the policy through despite direct pleas to him from senior managers regarding the dangers.
The ambulance trust invented its own system to “stop the clock’” on thousands of calls, routinely downgrading the response to patients who came via 111.
'This confirms our previous serious concerns about secretive decision-making and cover-up at SECamb.' Murphy - Patients Association.
