Petition Action

Bring back the diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome

Petition Details

Asperger's Syndrome was removed from the diagnostic criteria in 2013 for the DSM-V and I want to show the government how many people still believe in Asperger's and Autism as two separate conditions.

Additional Information

I run a popular support page online called 'Asperger's Syndrome Awareness: Bryan's Advocacy' and it's a part of my dream to bring the diagnosis back. Please check out my page if you have a moment.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The DSM-V seems to be an American Psychiatric Association publication, and not the responsibility of the Government and Parliament. If you would like action to be taken in the NHS, you coudls tart a new petition calling for the action you want to see.
