Petition Action

Reclaim Calais as part of England.

Petition Details

The migrant crisis in Calais.

Additional Information

This measure would in one fell stroke enable the migrants to automatically become British citizens, resolve the issue for the French (who should be grateful for once) and allow the citizens of Calais to decide whether they wish to stay in the EU, a privilege not available to French citizens.

At a later stage perhaps, the extension of British sovereignty could also be extended to Dunkirk & the whole of Aquitaine whilst we are about it.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because it is not clear what action you would like the UK Government and Parliament to take. The Government and Parliament do not have the power to reclaim Calais as part of England. They could, however, offer asylum to the migrants there.
