Impose greater restrictions to help tackle food waste at all levels.
7m tonnes of food is wasted annually, which cost, £12.5bn to the economy. 13.5m people struggle to put food on the table. The Trussel Trust gave 1,084,604 people 3 days’ emergency, out which 396997 were children.
20% of all crops never leave the farm due to supermarket cosmetic standards.
We want the government to put into place legislation, much like France has done to ban the waste of food by supermarkets so more of this can go towards food banks.
