All claimants of social or housing benefit should complete supervised community service in order to continue claiming.
Any person claiming benefits should carry out community work based on the level of benefit. The amount of time should be comparable to the minimum wage of the day. This work should be in the local community, be supervised and be mandatory. If the person fails to attend then benefits are stopped. This action may assist local councils carry out work that would have had to be stopped due to budget restraints.
