Cap the rent on University halls accommodation to make it more affordable
I believe that the answer to increasing student fiance problems is not changing the amount given to the student in the form of a maintenance loan, but to impose a cap on the total weekly cost of accommodation to ensure that students are not taken advantage of for monetary gain.
The cap could be introduced in line with local gross domestic product, or other factors, but should ensure that the accommodation companies do not make a large profit from student maintenance loans.
