To raise the acceptance level for EMA and ALG in the United Kingdom.

Petition Details

I want to raise the acceptance level for EMA and ALG in the UK. As a student who is driving, I have had to get a part job to provide the money I need to pay for parking, petrol and college supplies. I think everyone should have help with funding, even if its 10 to 20 pound a week.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. While EMA exists across the UK, policy relating to its operation is a devolved matter, as such the UK Parliament could only raise the acceptance level for England without changing the law on devolved powers.

In Wales, the Welsh Assembly is responsible for EMA. The Welsh Assembly has its own Petitions Committee. If you'd like to see the level of acceptance raised in Wales you could send your petition to the Welsh Assembly, you can find out more here:
