Allow Petitions Committee pass motions of no confidence in Government Ministers
Currently there is no possibility of the Petitions Committee considering Public Motions of No Confidence in the actions of Government Ministers. This means that the public can not hold Ministers directly to account for actions they take "In our name". This is unjust and should be changed.
Received the following email this morning.
"The Petitions Committee decided not to debate the petition you signed – “Consider a vote of No Confidence in Jeremy Hunt, Health Secretary”
The House of Commons Petitions Committee has decided not to schedule a debate on this petition, because the Committee does not have the power to schedule debates on motions of no confidence, and the petition does not contain a specific request for action on policy."
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
