It is proposed that e-petitions should require a minimum of 10,000 signatories within 90 days to progress to the second stage which will require 40,000 signatories within 180 days to progress to the third stage which will require 70,000 within 270 days and then 100,000 signatories within 365 days of publication. This will eliminate vexatious and frivolous e-petitions and will ensure that the serious points with the most supporters manage to achieve a proper discussion.
