Capital punishment should NOT be restored
The government should ensure that capital punishment is not restored as a punishment for any crime in the UK, even the most serious crimes.
Those convicted of the worst crimes should be left to rot in prison. They should not be given the opportunity for state sponsored martyrdom. The publicity and celebrity created by executions does not act as a deterrent and in the case of terrorsits executed for atrocities could only act to help further their causes.
