Introduce signal at bus lanes to alert drivers when a bus is aproaching.
No ones likes to get bus lane tickets and understandably they are
there for a reason to help the flow of traffic for buses.
My proposal is to equip all buses with device which would send a signal to an electronic sign at a bus lane notifying road users in advance when a bus is approaching.
This bus arrival data could be collected through traffic data just like the data given at bus stops when a bus is to arrive.
The bus lane would alert the road user either by a green or red signal.
Green would indicate safe to pass through the bus lane and red would indicate that they could not pass through the bus lane.
This strategy could even help traffic flow on off peak times and also give drivers a more clearer information before committing a bus lane offence .
