Petition Details

I believe it should be a basic human right for everyone to be able to use a clean and sanitary place to go the toilet without having to pay. I feel that with prices being as high as 50p+ in some places this really can cause a lot of people who are either sick, elderly or homeless problems.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The UK Government is not directly responsible for public toilets. Many public toilets are operated by local councils. Others are run by private sector organisations.

You could start a new petition calling on the Government to require local councils to provide free public toilets in their area, or a petition asking Parliament to change the law to make it illegal for anyone to charge for the use of a toilet.
