Petition Action

Investigate the UK Government's culture of lying to voters and stop doing it.

Petition Details

Over the last 20 years, UK governments have increasingly used lies, smears & spin when presenting a case to the public. Voters are being systematically misled on a wide range of issues. Truth and honesty are being sacrificed in a series of Government-driven attempts to subvert democratic processes.

Additional Information

An example is provided by recent assertions from David Cameron about the Canadian/EU trade deal, which has taken 7 years and has resulted in an imperfect deal for the UK. He would have us believe (from his Q&A at Felixstowe) that a Post-Brexit deal would be slower and less perfect - but the reverse is certain to be the case, given that such a trade deal would have only two parties to accommodate instead of 29!
