Allow students aged 16-18 to pay child fares on public transportation in the UK.
Students aged between 16-18 are being charged adult fares for public transportation, when they are still not classed as an "adult" when it comes to buying cigarettes, alcohol and voting. So why are they paying adult fares?
For 16-17 year olds the unemployment rate has increased since the early 2000s and additionally it is difficult to find a part time job whilst also in full time education. So those who are unemployed may not be able to afford the adult fare for public transportation in the United Kingdom.
