Ban on negative reporting of exam results
Every year, the press reports the rise in 'passes' in GCSE's and A Levels as being down to the exams becoming 'easier'.
They never report on the students working hard, getting good places at good universities.
The government should work with the press, to ensure that for these 3 weeks of the year, when results for A levels and GCSEs come out, the press only reports positively on the work of these young people.

In the UK, the press is not subject to state regulation. The Government believes that this is fundamental to our democracy. That is why the government does not interfere in what a newspaper or magazine chooses to publish.
However, with this freedom comes great responsibility. Newspapers must abide by the law, but they also sign up to a Code of Practice, overseen by the independent Press Complaints Commission (PCC). The Editor's Code of Practice sets a benchmark for the standards the press is expected to maintain.
