Compulsory yearly test for secondary school teachers in their respective subject

Petition Details

Secondary school teachers that teach GCSE or A-Level classes should take the respective test in their subject every year and score very highly to ensure that the teaching standards are adequate throughout the nations' schools.

Additional Information

If students are to perform well at school they should be taught by teachers that have throughout knowledge of the curriculum. It would also ensure equality as a student should not be at a disadvantage to their peers if they have a teacher who is not able to teach the curriculum to a satisfactory standard. Failure of the teacher to score highly on the tests they are teaching to should result in intervention and perhaps further training.
