Royal Commission on the future of Policing
That this Government establishes a Royal Commission to determine the future role of policing within England and Wales.
The Commission's remit should be able to consider, amongst other topics, the establishment of;
A regional or national community based police service;
A regional or national Criminal Investigation Service;
A Regional or National Road Policing Service and a Regional or National public order service.
The Commission should also be able to re-determine the role, remit and remuneration of police officers of all ranks.
