Local Councils to be forced to disclose how many of their administrators have been and will be made redundant?
Local Authorities are only too quick to save money by withdrawing funding from services they have been providing but almost certainly the largest part of Council budgets are Council administrators - how many of these have been and will be made redundant?
In any organisation staff can broadly be split into 'Direct' (i.e. 'hands-on who have 'jobs that involve, in the context of the Councils, face to face contact with residents) and 'Indirect' (i.e. administrators). Generally Indirect employees do not add value to services that residents want and should be eliminated. My local Council do not advertise numbers of Administrators made redundant and have not replied to my request for details.
