MPs should be forced to publish their tax returns annually publicly
To ensure that MPs are not above the law, like their expenses, their yearly tax returns should be made available for public viewing. This will help create some accountability from the public as a result, and ensure those elected to represent us are not above the tax code.
As a result, this would restore confidence from constituents in their MP that they are not avoiding their fair share of tax. MPs should be paying their tax, and as we elect them every five years to represent our views in Parliament, we should have the right to see their annual tax return via a public database to make sure they are paying their appropriate share of it.
