Decriminalise the consumption of cannabis, and consider other drugs too.
The War on Drugs has failed, ruining people's lives by giving them criminal records for harmless personal consumption; people deserve opportunities for rehabilitation instead of punishment. Prisons face problems of overpopulation and decriminalising personal use of drugs will save time and money
See the case study of Portugal, who already decriminalised drugs a long time ago for, the long term effects:

Cannabis has already been decriminalised in Derbyshire, Dorset and Surrey – this should extend throughout the nation, if not with other drugs too. The expenditure on prosecution of personal drug use should be allocated elsewhere (i.e. NHS or education) - it is very wasteful

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

If you would like the Government to legalise a different drug than cannabis for personal use, you could start a petition about that.
