Petition to reverse the fixed-term parliaments act of 2011
So it's clear that we cannot call a general election due to the fixed-term parliaments act of 2011. So a petition to reverse the decision should see that we could potentially have a petition for a snap general election.
It's clear that many people are unhappy with the current government cuts and would like to have their voices heard. But are getting no response. This petition will be the beginning of turning this around.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition in its current form as it does not call for a clear action from the UK Government and Parliament. Repealing the Fixed Term Parliament Act, would not create a mechanism which would allow the public to call for an early election. This would most likely see the power to call an election be placed back in the hands of the Government. The Fixed Term Parliaments Act gives the power to trigger a general election to MPs in the House of Commons.
