Free SAS war hero jailed for keeping weapon that reminded him of fallen comrades
SAS war hero Albert Patterson was jailed on 14th April 2016 for 15 months for illegal possession of a firearm that he had captured from an Argentinian officer during the Falklands war. He bought it home to remind him of 22 friends that died during the conflict. Is this how we treat our soldiers?

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government and Parliament are not responsible for releasing people from prison. You could ask the Government to ask the Queen to exercise the prerogative of mercy.
You could also start a new petition calling on Parliament to change the law, to prevent cases like this happening in the future. This is likely to be more effective than asking for a court sentence to be overturned.
