Hunt to assure MPs that his actions show due regard to the NHS Constitution
Significant concern has been raised that the election pledge for ‘a truly 7 day NHS’ has not been evaluated as to its effectiveness, cost, deliverability or safety and may threaten the viability of the NHS, yet the Government has chosen to pursue it even to the point of imposing contract change.
Government should not be allowed to just ignore the Parliament-approved NHS Constitution. This requires the Health Secretary to reassure MPs that implementing the election pledge will not jeopardise the effectiveness and future of a struggling NHS service, and that imposition of the contentious junior doctor contract, is not in fact undermining principle 3 that recognises excellent patient care needs staff who feel valued. NHS Constitution requires that change be evidenced and negotiated.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition in its current form as it does not call for a clear action from the UK Government and Parliament. You could start a petition calling on the Government to make a statement to the House of Commons about the compatability of its NHS reforms with the NHS Constitution.
