Petition Action

Clarify the rules on bin collection. The service is draconian and bureaucratic

Petition Details

The refuse collection legislation passed in 2008 made the 1990 law unenforceable and local councils can make up the rules as they go along. They can choose how often to collect, refuse to collect whenever they see fit (these are refuse collectors making the decision) and fine us for being late.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition calling on Parliament to make a specific change to the laws relating to bin collections.
