Urgent call for Residential Care Home Act; specific to Elderly Care
Respectfully, we, the signatories, ask that:
All parties associated with residential care for the elderly are held legally responsible, therefore, legally accountable: Company Directors, Employees; Local Authority, Local Authority Commissioners, Social Services; Medical Practitioners.
1. According to CARE QUALITY COMMISSION,
18 January 2016, there is NO LEGAL REQUIREMENT for
Registered Residential Care Home Managers, Providers
to:
- INFORM members of staff, residents, relatives, next of kin that home has been subject to an inspection by CARE QUALITY COMMISSION.
- PROVIDE COPY of CQC INSPECTION REPORT to members of staff, in their ‘mother tongue’; to residents, relatives and next of kin.
2. Recent case has revealed that, seemingly, there is
NO LEGAL REQUIREMENT for:
- LOCAL AUTHORITIES to maintain controls, checks and balances of commissioned residential care homes.
- MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS to maintain controls, checks, balances of administration of drugs by residential care homes.
