Encourage amateur associations to change their seasonal dates.
Yet again this season we have been unable to play every week due to adverse weather conditions. A handful of games since December is all we have mustered. This is something that happens every season.
The amateur associations must act and change season dates. Summer play is a necessity.
By having to play 3-4 games every week towards the end of every season, is a huge strain on the amateur player.
The amateur player has family and work commitments. We hear professionals complaining of midweek games. Yet we have 2 in 3 days.
Everyone suffers. Players, managers, referees & most of all, the standard of play.
Please consider:
a) Starting new seasons weeks after the end of the previous.
b) No football over winter period.
Let common sense prevail.
