STRIP BERNARD INGHAM OF HIS KNIGHTHOOD

Petition Details

SIR Bernard Ingham was Margret Thatcher's chief press officer from 1979-1990. Ingham was involved in the covering up of the unlawful killing of 96 Liverpool fans on 15th April 1989. He released a letter in response to a family member of the 96. You can see parts of his letter below.

Additional Information

Sections of the letter read;

"I am sorry you are disgusted with the uncomfortable truth about the real cause of the Hillsborough disaster. It is my unhappy experience to find that most reasonable people outside of Merseyside recognise the truth of what I say."

It went on to read..."After all, who if not the tanked up yobs who turned up late determined to get into the ground caused the disaster? To blame the police, even though they made mistakes, is contemptible"

Now we know the truth!
