Petition Action

Revise SATs at primary schools. The present structure is demoralising.

Petition Details

My granddaughter is considered a bright child and does well at school. During this years SATs she dissolved into tears and told her teacher she couldn't do the test and therefore did not complete it. Despite comfort and reassurance she was left feeling that she had failed miserably.

Additional Information

Dr. Mary Bousted the General Secretary of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers warned that the implementation time of these tests is unworkable. Also she reports that the content of the curriculum is completely inappropriate for the majority of children.
