Vote of No Confidence in the Security Industry Authority

Petition Details

This e-petition has been created for the benefit of highlighting the UK private security industry's vote of no confidence in the regulatory body The Security Industry Authority (SIA); specifically, the training standards implemented for the Close Protection sector since 2006.

Additional Information

The SIA has fundamentally failed to implement the correct standard by omitting vital training objectives necessary for private security to work effectively in the work place.

We want the UK Government to recognise the current unfit for purpose standards currently imposed in the industry and to create a new body comprising of experienced security industry professionals dedicated to implementing a proper workable fit for purpose training standard that is transparent, impartial and independent.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition in its current form as it does not call for a clear action from the UK Government and Parliament. A vote of confidence can only be held on a Government as a whole, or a particular Minister.

You could start a petition calling on the Government to create a new statutory regulatory body for the security industry.
