Give animals the same basic rights humans!
There are too many cases of animal cruelty that are being dismissed unjustly just because the victim is not human!
These cases need to be dealt with more seriously by UK law!
Is it acceptable that any animal or pet should be treated in a way that you would not your own child?
Is it acceptable that any animal or pet should be made to suffer at the hands of a cruel individual for sport or personal sick pleasure??
Sign this petition to encourage the government to address this matter accordingly by introducing more severe punishments for animal cruelty of any kind and serving possible prison sentences for the crimes that are being dismissed so easily on a daily basis!
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. The basic rights of humans are set out in many different legal documents, for example, the Human Rights Act 1998. It's not clear what rights you want animals to have.
You might like to start a petition calling for mandatory prison sentences or longer sentences for those convicted of animal cruelty.
