Petition Action

Make BT only invest in a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) solution for UK broadband

Petition Details

BT continues to invest in copper cable technology solutions for home broadband, giving them the right to force line rental charges.

BT could solely invest in FTTP, effectively future-proofing UK broadband and easily achieving speeds of up to 1Gbps and more in the future with optional line rental.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This isn't something that the UK Government or Parliament could do. BT is not a public body.
