Ensure the BBC represents Licence payers
The Minister for Culture, Media and sport, is interfering in the independence of the BBC. His stated aim to directly appoint members of the Board brings unprecedented influence of the programmes produced and services provided
The BBC is paid for by the public and should fairly represent all
John Flasby Lawrence Whittingdale is exerting unacceptable political influence over a news and entertainment body that is paid for and should be owned by the public - as such, it should fairly represent the public and not bend in the wind of political change.

We cannot accept your petition as it is not clear what specific action you want the UK Government or Parliament to take. You could start a new petition explaining clearly how you would like the views of licence fee payers to be represented in BBC decision-making. For example, you could ask for some members of the board to be elected by the public.
