Minimum wage increase to £10.00 per hour for over 25's. Over 21 £8, Over 18 £7
The government has started by slightly increasing the minimum wage for over 25s to £7.20, I call on the government to further increase the national minimum wage. This would make working fair for everyone, and pay people a living wage.
80% of employers believe that the Living Wage had enhanced the quality of the work of their staff, while absenteeism had fallen by approximately 25%.
Two thirds of employers reported a significant impact on recruitment and retention within their organisation. 70% of employers felt that the Living Wage had increased consumer awareness of their organisation’s commitment to be an ethical employer.
The Living Wage affords people the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families.
