To place a cap on holiday companies inflated prices during school holidays.
Holiday companies target parents with children by inflating holiday prices during school holidays. In term time a similar holiday can be as much as £1000 per person cheaper. We are an easy target as our children need an education so school holidays is the only time we can go.
This has been a bone of contention for some time, this is also why the government brought in the term time fines system to stop parents from taking their children on cheaper holidays.
