Carers Charter: "Mandy's Law"
Carers Charter " Mandy's Law " currently when you retire and if your partner / child requires full time care you are excluded from claiming Carers Allowance as the Government claim you cannot claim both ,being a State Pension and Carers Allowance. Many Carers are old and sick too so need help.
In 2010 I suffered a stroke ,yet already had diabetes,MS, a damaged spine and Bells Palsy. I am involved in the charity ,The Bay Foundation Disabled and Carers Trust so already deal with many Carers in desperate need.Indeed there are over six million Carers in the UK many of whom are retired ,caring for a loved one ,yet excluded from claiming this allowance because they receive a State Pension, whom most paid for.The allowance should also be paid free of tax liability as with the DLA allowance.
