Petition Details

So many kids are now victims of a web of bullying and other negative aspects. Simply because they are not emotionally and mentally developed to deal with social media
It simply becomes an unscreened method of a way to bully others.

Additional Information

Huge research has been carried out showing that under 16's. Should not be able to access social media without parental consent. And if parents consent. They should take the legal libel against others. This way. Parents become responsible.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

At the moment, age policies are the responsibility of social media sites.

If you would like Parliament to change the law, to make it illegal to offer social media accounts to those under 16, then you could start a petition asking for that.
