Save the BBC's recipe archive!

Petition Details

The BBC recipe resource is an archive of thousands of recipes gathered over years. Why throw it away?

Additional Information

Providing 'Distinctive content' means not spending fortunes on popular entertainment that can be provided by the commercial sector, not deleting content that has already been created, and costs little to maintain.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This decision is the responsibility of the BBC. The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
