Banish Parent Fines/Court/Jail of children with 'Low School Attendance'

Petition Details

Parents' are faced with prosecution threats and fines regarding our child/children's' school attendance statistics. Is it really right to prosecute a parent who has kept an ill child at home just because his/her attendance levels have fallen? Let's banish these silly fines & sentences together!

Additional Information

As a parent, I am currently facing a possible court prosecution because I have kept my child at home when he has been poorly. Even though I have provided medical evidence, it has not been enough to stop the proceedings going ahead. This has caused undo stress & anxiety. I do not believe it is right to put families under so much pressure. we need to unite as parents' and get rid of these silly statistics. We should not be discriminated against for making the decision to keep our child at home!
