Petition Action

Stop internet censorship linked to celebrity 'gagging orders' now!

Petition Details

I read in The Sun (1 June 2016) that there is going to be censorship on the internet after a legal ruling on celebrity 'gagging orders' requested by the English courts. This type of internet censorship shouldn't be allowed when the rest of the world can read it. I demand that the Government stop it!

Additional Information

I don't really care what celebrities get up to in their personal lives, I do care about the internet being censored for their benefit. What subject matter will be next?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It's clear that you're concerned about possible censorship on the internet, but it's not clear what action you would like the Government or Parliament to take. If you would like Parliament to change the law, you could start a new petition asking for the specific change you want.
