Petition Details

Billions of tons of litter are dumped into the ocean every year. Many people litter our streets with cigarette butts, fast food waste and lots of other things. None of this is good for our environment so we think it should stop.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take. There are already fines for littering in the UK:

Although the fine imposed is at the discretion of the responsible local council, the minimum fine which can be imposed for littering is already £50:
