FAT TAX ON FOOD AND TO MAKE FRESH FOOD CHEAPER

Additional Information

A tax or surcharge that is placed upon fattening foods or beverages. A fat tax aims to decrease the consumption of foods that are linked to obesity and could lower the NHS bill for treating obesity. A study by the National Audit Office estimates that obesity costs the NHS at least £500m a year.
