We want a national strategy for excellent play opportunites in primary schools
A recent OFSTED report for Kender Primary school in London acknowledged the contribution of outstanding play opportunities in meeting all of the most important current areas of concern in child development, health and well-being. Every school child has the right to play opportunites of this quality
A recent All Party Parliamentary Group report said that
play is disappearing from childhood and anxiety, stress and inactivity in childhood are becoming an overwhelming problem.

In 7 years of primary school, children spend 1.4 years at play and yet there is no strategic approach on the value of play for every child, no support on play based staffing, no understanding of the value of free play and no funding to help improve the quality of play in schools.
