Make wearing helmets on bikes mandatory for all.
In 2014 21,287 cyclists were injured in reported road accidents, including 3,514 who are killed or seriously injured. If you were on a motorbike travelling at 30Mph you are legally obliged to wear a helmet but you can travel on a push bike with no protection on the same road at the same speed.
If everyone was to wear a helmet when travelling on their bike then some of these could be avoided and suffering for individuals and families would be lessened. The figures shown are only ones that have occurred on the road and been reported so it is a fair assumption that there are many more that have gone unreported.
