Only British Passports to be used while checking in at the poll station.
Postal votes were sent out to thousands of EU citizens despite the fact they're not allowed to vote. it's too late to do anything about this now. What we can do however is to stop other EU citizens that registered to vote from doing so by checking their nationality at the polling station.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
At present, people voting in the UK are not required to provide ID. If you would like people voting to be required to produce ID, you could start a new petition asking for that.
You may wish to know that British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens aged 18 or over who are resident in the UK or Gibraltar were eligible to vote in the EU referendum. UK citizens resident overseas were also eligible to vote, provided they have been registered to vote at a UK address in the last 15 years.
