Petition Action

Referendum on whether Britain should keep the monarchy or become a Republic.

Petition Details

Supporters of the monarchy say that the monarchy has the support of the majority of the British people. Whether you are a republican or a supporter of the Royal Family I think you should support this petition and let the British people decide the constitutional future of this county.

Additional Information

The Monarchy has more influence than most people might think. MPs, people joining the Police and people joining the armed force need to swear an oath of allegiance to the monarch or crown as well as people becoming naturalised citizens . His or Her majesty's is in the name of a lot if not all government organisations. We have an unelected House of Lords which is linked with the monarchy and the monarch has power through the Royal Prerogative. link to Royal Prerogativehttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4267761.stm
