Lower the Income Requirement for Spouse/Family Visas to UK from non EU Countries
The current income requirement for British citizens to bring their non-EU spouses to the UK is £18,600. According to the BBC, 50% of British Citizens do not earn enough to meet the new requirements. Britons earning minimum wage should have the right to a family. by basic human rights.
The High Courts suggested £13,000 ,above National Minimum Wage.Which, is being appealed by the Home Office as too low. Members of the EU with non-EU spouses aren't subjected to the same requirement. British citizens should not be punished for who they want to marry.
The HS, Theresa May, said 'these current laws openly discriminate against the poor'.
Propose lowering the income requirement so that citizens working full-time(40 hours)on a minimum wage salary can be with their Spouses.
