Stop using Primary Schools as polling stations.
On 5 May 2016 the local school was used as a polling station. In this small community 15 people turned up to vote versus 74 pupils missing school.
Since 2010 local and general elections have meant that 2 school weeks have been lost at a time when parents are being fined for taking their children out of school. We petition a debate to change voting to postal, online or Saturday options or simply find an alternative venue to closing schools.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
