Add a "life skills" subject to the National Curriculum
Teaching students basic life skills that would be beneficial for their future.
How to manage finances and avoid debt, the dangers of payday loans, how to fill in application forms and cheques, basic first aid, how to pay bills, improving social skills, general home maintenance (cooking and DIY)
Religious Education is a mandatory subject for all students, including years 10 and 11.
It would be more beneficial for them to have the option to study RE or Life Skills.
Knowing these basic skills is important and would be very helpful for when they leave school and prepare for adulthood.
