Votes weighted on electorate's age giving the "current generation" a greater say

Petition Details

In referendums & elections, votes should be weighted so that an age group (such as: 25-45) have a greater say than the very youngest & very oldest (a sliding scale). Everyone during their lifetime would get equal voting power; however they would have the most voting impact between a certain age.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It's not clear how this could be done. Voting in the UK is anonymous. It is not therefore possible to work out which votes would be accorded greater weight.
