Hold UCAS accountable for the terrible handling of A-level results publication on 18/08/2011
UCAS must be held accountable for the failure of its 'Track' service and the subsequent and unnecessary additional pressure on students who could not confirm their university placement or access the 'Clearing' service for much of the day.
Any individual responsibility should be acknowledged within the company and answers need to be given as to why sufficient steps were not taken to deal with the anticipated heavy demand on the service.
The Government in particular needs to scrutinize UCAS's failures this year and take steps to ensure that lessons are learned and steps are taken to improve the service given to students in the future.
